September Spartans of the Month

9th grade: Danna Hernandez (not pictured)
Danna Hernandez has shown exemplary skill and character in my classroom.  She stays engaged, on task, and is always willing to ask questions if she is stuck on a problem.  Beyond her excellence as a student, she volunteers to assist her group members when doing collaborative work and maintains a positive attitude throughout the class.  Danna Hernandez is a valuable member to my geometry course and a wonderful example of a true Spartan! - Ms. Jackson

10th grade: Samantha Ferrer
Samantha doesn't just show you what it's like to be a good mathematician (questioning/ exploring/ struggling). She also shows signs of being a good friend, helping her peers when they need it. Samantha's unwavering dedication to academics and citizenship is inspiring. - Ms. Gomez

12th grade: Mauricio Hernandez
I have known Mauricio for 4 years, and he has always been the perfect example of a model Spartan.  Mauricio is a top performer in a very challenging class.  He is a self-directed hard worker.  He knows when and how to advocate for himself, making sure to ask for help or clarification whenever necessary.  I have also observed him helping his peers on several occasions through the years.  If there is anybody who deserves recognition as Spartan of the Month, it is Mauricio. - Mr. Pina
